Tips and Tricks

Non-obvious stuff that'll save you time or make you look smart. Everything here is mechanically real - no folklore.

Minimap tricks

Long-press to drop custom waypoints

Open the full-screen minimap (click the minimap, or tap the expand button). Then long-press (about half a second) anywhere on the map to drop a custom waypoint. You can:

  • Rename it.
  • Change its color.
  • Delete it.

Waypoints persist across sessions, so mark your favorite fishing spot once and it's there forever.

F to fit all waypoints

In the full-screen map, press F to zoom out to fit all your waypoints in view at once. Great for planning a multi-stop trip.

Guidance beam follows the nearest waypoint

The colored beam from your character is the game's way of pointing at the most important waypoint right now - a quest step, an active fire, a 999 call. If you want to override it temporarily, set a custom waypoint with higher priority (or just ignore it).

Phone tricks

You start passive, and crime tools drop you out

New players spawn passive by default — you're invulnerable until you deliberately turn it off (or pick up a Slim Jim / Pickpocket Knife, which auto-drops you out of passive). Flipping it off stays off until you toggle back.

You can't re-enable passive if:

  • You're holding a crime tool (drop it first).
  • You're currently wanted (wait for the 5-minute decay).
  • You're a POLIS officer (cops are never passive — it's a team property).
  • You're within a passive lock after a recent crash/speeding/crime (duration scales with star level — see Crime and Law).

Collision toggle to phase through parking

Stuck behind a player's parked car? Open the Collision app on your phone and disable collisions. Your vehicle now phases through others. Drive out, re-enable collisions.

Camera app captures in-game

The Camera app on your phone takes in-world screenshots. Good for:

  • Showcasing your house.
  • Capturing roleplay moments.
  • Recording a 5-star arrest for the memories.

Dismiss the task card

The task card (top-left) can cover mobile driving controls. Tap the chevron (^) icon on the card to collapse it to a minimum size. Tap again to re-expand. Quest progress continues either way.

Driving tricks

Sirens = no tickets

If you're in a Polis, Bomba, or Kesihatan vehicle with the siren active, you're automatically exempt from speeding and crash offences. Flip the siren on when you're responding. Flip it off when you park, so others don't think you're still on a call.

Free civilian cars

Most civilian cars spawn free (no rent, no buy price). Don't waste Ringgit renting a Protan Wira when the same car is free at the same spawner. Check the "free" column before paying.

Trawlers are free on shift

The Tier 1 Trawler spawns for free as long as you're clocked in to the Fishing Sector. You only pay for the bigger Tier 2 (25k) and Tier 3 (37k) trawlers.

Money tricks

Bank your big money

Your wallet can be pickpocketed (80-300 SR stolen at a time). The bank can't. Keep maybe 500 SR in your wallet for shops, stash the rest.

Milestone bonus timing

Don't end your session at 14 fires extinguished, 9 treatments given, or 4 arrests made. One more action gets you the milestone bonus:

  • Bomba: +150 SR at 15 blocks.
  • Kesihatan: +150 SR at 10 treatments.
  • Polis: +200 SR at 5 arrests.

Help Bomba for passive XP

If you're POLIS or Kesihatan and stand within 512 studs of an active fire while Bomba firefighters extinguish blocks, you earn 10 player XP per block without doing anything. Good for grinding while waiting for criminals or patients.

5-star arrests are worth camping

A single 5-star arrest = 400 XP + 1,200 Ringgit to the arresting officer, and 200 XP / 600 Ringgit to any nearby officer. If someone's trafficking Hornbills and pickpocketing players, they'll rack up stars fast. Be ready.

Quest tricks

Quests trigger in the background

You don't need to focus on quests. They auto-complete as you play normally. Just make sure to open the Quest app occasionally to claim rewards.

Ordered steps for lore quests

The last two quests ("A Day in Sumaya", "The Ringgit Grind") have strict step order. If you spawn a vehicle before checking your phone, the vehicle-step won't count. Read the step list in order and do them one at a time.

Service sector requires level 50

The "Jack of All Trades" quest asks you to sample all three civilian sectors. Service (Mamak/Fast Food) requires level 50 in another sector to unlock. If you can't progress on this quest, that's why - go grind fishing or palm oil to level 50 first.

Kesihatan tricks

+15% XP boost benefits everyone

The injury system auto-activates the moment a Kesihatan player joins the server, and all players get +15% player-level XP for as long as at least one Kesihatan is online. Deactivates when the last Kesihatan leaves. The boost doesn't affect sector XP. If you see a Kesihatan player online, your grinding time is 15% more efficient.

TBI treatment is hands-off once bedded

Traumatic Brain Injury treatment requires the patient to lie on a medical bed for 30 seconds. While that timer runs, you can treat other patients. Don't just stand watching.

Housing tricks

70% refund on sale

You can sell your house for 70% of what you paid. So the effective "cost of trying" a Tier 3 Modern Terrace (1,200 SR) is 360 SR - the 30% the game keeps. Not cheap, but not ruinous.

One plot at a time

The system enforces a 1 plot per player limit. Don't try to hoard.

Furniture saves automatically

Place furniture, walk away. It's saved. No confirmation needed.

Crime tricks

Surrender cuts jail time in half

Instead of running from cops, find a surrender prompt (usually near police stations) and turn yourself in. Your jail time is roughly halved:

  • 5-star arrest: 5 minutes in jail.
  • 5-star surrender: 150 seconds in jail.

You do get a passive lock after release, but it's still way shorter.

Don't log out while wanted

If you leave mid-offence, the LTAA (Leave To Avoid Arrest) system hits you with longer jail on return:

  • Normal 5-star jail: 5 min.
  • LTAA 5-star jail: 6 min.

Quitting doesn't help. Serve or surrender.

Decay if you hide

If you commit no new offences for 5 minutes, your wanted status fully clears. Commit the Hornbill run, bank the 2,000 SR, then lay low - don't speed back to the scene of your last crime.

Mobile tips

Collapse HUD elements

Task card and phone both eat screen space. Collapse what you're not actively using. Especially helpful during a chase sequence where every pixel matters.

Double-tap to sprint

On most mobile setups, double-tap the joystick to toggle sprint. Much more ergonomic than holding a sprint button.

Phone camera isn't zoomable

The in-game camera app takes screenshots at a fixed framing. If you want cinematic shots, use the Cinematic app for a free-roaming camera view, then screenshot externally.

Roleplay tricks

Passive mode for conversations

If you're trying to have a roleplay conversation, flip passive mode on. No one can hit you, carjack you, or drag you into combat. Flip back off when you're done.

999 calls for immersion

Any civilian can dial 999 and type a custom message describing the emergency. Emergency teams see your call in the MDT with your location. Great for setting up roleplay scenarios (report a robbery, call a fire, request medical evac).

Lights and doors for ambience

Your house has togglable lights and doors. Leave lights off for a dusk screenshot. Lock doors when you're home "off duty". Unlock them for in-game parties.
