Quests
Sumaya has a 12-quest discovery chain that walks you through the game's core mechanics while paying out XP and Ringgit as you go. Every new player is automatically started on it - no action needed.
This page lists every quest, what you need to do, and what you get.
How quests work
- The chain starts automatically on your first join.
- Each quest has one or more steps. Complete the steps, get the reward, and the next quest auto-unlocks.
- Your active quest step is shown in the task card (top-left of your screen).
- Quest markers appear on the minimap and as a red guidance beam pointing you to the relevant location.
- You can view your progress in the Quest app on your phone.
Most quests are one-step - do the thing, get the reward. Two of them (the final "lore" quests) have ordered steps that must be done in sequence.
The discovery chain
All 12 quests in order. Rewards are paid to your bank account for Ringgit, and to your global player XP.
1. Welcome to Sumaya!
- Goal: Spend 10 seconds in the world.
- Reward: 100 XP, 50 Ringgit.
A warmup quest - you get this one just by existing for 10 seconds after you spawn.
2. Check Your Phone
- Goal: Open your phone at least once.
- Reward: 100 XP, 50 Ringgit.
Teaches you where the phone is. Tap the icon.
3. On the Road
- Goal: Spawn any vehicle.
- Waypoint: nearest vehicle spawner.
- Reward: 150 XP, 100 Ringgit.
Introduces the vehicle spawner system. Most civilian cars are free to spawn.
4. Your First Purchase
- Goal: Buy any item from a shop.
- Waypoint: nearest shop.
- Reward: 150 XP, 100 Ringgit.
Teaches shopping. Any cheap item works - food, a tool, anything.
5. Pick a Career
- Goal: Start any civilian job (Fishing, Service, or Agro).
- Waypoint: nearest career station.
- Reward: 200 XP, 150 Ringgit.
Gets you into the career system. Clock in at any civilian career station.
6. Leveling Up
- Goal: Reach player level 2.
- Reward: 300 XP, 200 Ringgit.
You'll hit level 2 just by completing the earlier quests or doing a short career shift.
7. Retail Therapy
- Goal: Buy 3 items from any shops.
- Waypoint: any shop.
- Reward: 250 XP, 200 Ringgit.
You can buy from the same shop or different ones. 3 total purchases required.
8. Jack of All Trades
- Goal: Work all 3 civilian sectors (Fishing, Service, Agro) at least once.
- Reward: 400 XP, 300 Ringgit.
Each start counts once. Clock in at fishing, then service (if you've unlocked it at level 50 - otherwise skip this step via palm oil), then palm oil. Note: the service sector unlocks at level 50 in another sector, so you may need to grind a bit first.
9. Rising Star
- Goal: Reach player level 5.
- Reward: 500 XP, 400 Ringgit.
A level milestone. Do any grind - fishing, palm oil, or emergency service - until you hit 5.
10. Old Hand
- Goal: Reach player level 10.
- Reward: 800 XP, 700 Ringgit.
Another level milestone. Bigger payout.
11. A Day in Sumaya
- Goal: Live a typical day (ordered steps):
- Check phone for morning news.
- Commute to work (spawn a vehicle).
- Clock in for a shift (start any civilian job).
- Treat yourself (buy an item from a shop).
- Reward: 300 XP, 250 Ringgit.
The steps must be done in that order. You can't spawn a vehicle before checking your phone, etc.
12. The Ringgit Grind (FINAL)
- Goal: Hustle your way up (ordered steps):
- Clock in to any civilian job.
- Reach player level 3 (after clocking in).
- Spend Ringgit at a shop.
- Spawn / afford a vehicle (after all the above).
- Reward: 500 XP, 400 Ringgit, PLUS a one-time finale bonus of 2,000 XP and 1,500 Ringgit.
The finale. Must be done in order. By the time you finish this, you'll have sampled almost everything the game offers. The finale bonus only pays out for this quest.
Total rewards
If you complete the entire chain:
- 5,750 XP in player-level experience (3,750 from individual quests + 2,000 finale bonus).
- 4,400 Ringgit to your bank account (2,900 from individual quests + 1,500 finale bonus).
That's enough XP to push past player level 10, and enough Ringgit to buy a Tier 3 house, a mid-range trawler, or most civilian vehicles outright.
Viewing quest progress
Open the Quest app on your phone:
- Active quest - the one you're currently working on.
- Step list - with checkboxes for completed steps.
- Locked quests - greyed out until earlier ones are done.
- Completed quests - with a badge.
Quest waypoints
The game automatically sets minimap waypoints for quest steps that need a specific location:
- "Spawn a vehicle" - points to the nearest vehicle spawner.
- "Buy something" - points to the nearest shop.
- "Clock in" - points to the nearest career station.
- "Start fishing specifically" - points to a fishing dock.
The waypoint auto-clears when you complete the step.
Dismissing the task card
If the task card in the top-left is blocking your view (especially on mobile while driving), tap the chevron (^) button to collapse it. Your quest progress continues in the background.
The task card auto-returns when you open a new quest or complete a step.
Tips
- Do quests in order for max efficiency. They cascade - a step for Quest 3 might also count for Quest 11's first step.
- The ordered lore quests need patience. If you mess up the order (e.g. you spawn a vehicle before opening your phone for Quest 11), that step won't count. Just do it in the right order.
- Reach level 50 in a civilian sector to unlock Service for the "Jack of All Trades" quest. Otherwise it may remain incomplete.
- Quest Ringgit goes to the bank, not your wallet. Makes sense - you've earned it, it's savings.
- You can complete quests passively while doing other activities. Don't focus-grind them; just play, and they'll tick off naturally.
