Fishing

Fishing is one of Sumaya's three civilian careers. You can fish two ways: with a rod on the pier (quick, casual) or with a trawler boat out on the water (bigger-scale, sector-level grind). The two systems pay differently and level different things.

Getting started

  1. Open your phone and tap the Careers app.
  2. Pick Fishing Sector.
  3. Head to a fishing spot - the Careers app and the guidance beam will point you to the nearest dock or pier.
  4. Press the clock in prompt.

Once you're on shift, you'll get a fishing rod in your backpack and the fishing HUD appears.

Rod fishing (casual)

Equip the rod, aim at water within 80 studs, and cast. There's roughly a 1-in-3 chance of a catch per cast. Reel in what you hook.

Sumaya has 5 species of fish you can catch with the rod:

FishXPRinggit
Baung158
Empurau158
Patin158
Pelian158
Tapah158

XP and Ringgit payouts are applied when you sell the fish at the dock.

Important: rod fishing XP only levels your player account (global XP), not your fishing sector level. If you want to climb the fishing sector ladder and unlock better trawlers, you need to trawl.

Trawl fishing (sector grind)

The big earner is trawl fishing with a boat. You spawn a trawler from a water-side vehicle spawner, drive out, and pull fish in bulk.

Per-fish rewards

Trawling is flat-rate:

  • 2 XP per fish (both player and fishing sector)
  • 0.5 Ringgit per fish

The numbers look small, but trawlers hold a lot of fish, and sector XP lets you afford bigger boats.

Trawler boats

TierPriceHow to get
Tier 1 TrawlerFree while you're on a fishing shiftSpawn at any fishing-boat spawner
Tier 2 Trawler25,000 Ringgit to buyEarn and save up
Tier 3 Trawler37,000 Ringgit to buyFor serious fishing enthusiasts

Each tier up gives you more capacity. The Tier 1 trawler is free every shift, so you can start trawl fishing immediately - you only pay for the nicer boats.

Trawlers can run out of fuel on long trips. Keep an eye on the fuel gauge on your HelmGui (fuel is tracked per-shift for the captain, not per-vehicle purchase). Trawlers start with the fuel stored against your last shift's remaining balance (or the default if first shift).

Refueling: Buy a Gas Can from the Boat Gas Can shop - Red (+25 fuel, 75 SR), Green (+50 fuel, 100 SR), or Black (+75 fuel, 125 SR). Equip it and use the trawler's interact prompt. Note: fuel caps at 100, and refill only works when your current fuel is below 75 - you can't top off a mostly-full tank.

How to trawl fish

  1. Clock in to the fishing sector.
  2. Walk up to a fishing boat spawner at a dock.
  3. Spawn a trawler.
  4. Drive the boat out to open water.
  5. Use the trawl to pull in fish.
  6. Come back to the dock to sell and/or unload.

Clocking out and selling

When you clock out, your total trawl earnings are paid to you as a single paycheck. You'll see a Nelayan Sdn. Bhd. ("Fisherman Co.") pay slip when the shift ends.

Rod-fished fish are sold individually at a shop prompt instead of waiting for end-of-shift.

Leveling up

The fishing sector goes up to level 100. Only trawl fishing earns sector XP - rod fishing pays player XP only.

Higher sector level doesn't directly increase your per-fish rewards. What it does:

  • Better rank titles (nothing mechanical, just prestige).
  • Unlocks the Token_Keli token at level 50, which is the threshold for unlocking the Service sector (Mamak / Fast Food).

Unlocking the service sector

Reach level 50 in the fishing sector (or Agriculture / palm oil) and you unlock the ability to work in the service sector (Mamak / Fast Food). See Service sector.

Tips

  • Rod for fast player XP, trawl for sector grind. If you want to level the fishing sector, trawl - rod fishing doesn't touch it.
  • Stack with the Kesihatan +15% boost. It applies to player XP on both rod and trawl.
  • Fish-and-chat. Trawling is almost a background activity - you can chat, AFK slightly, drive back to a dock between runs.
  • Watch the fuel on boats. Don't go far out if your gauge is low - you'll coast back empty.
  • Dock respawn. If you die while fishing, your shift ends. Just re-clock in.
  • Multiplier cap is 5. Rod rewards can be multiplied up to 5x by in-world bonuses; beyond that the server caps it.
