Rules ​

Bandaraya is a roleplay game. There are rules. Read them. Follow them. You will be banned if you don't.

The canonical rule text lives in the game (infoModules.GameRules). This page is a player-friendly summary.

TL;DR ​

  • Don't exploit, glitch, or hack. Instant ban.
  • Don't go rogue on a public-services team. Instant ban.
  • Don't LTAA (leave to avoid arrest) or RTAA (reset to avoid arrest).
  • Stay in character. Respect roleplay.
  • Don't harass people, spawn-kill civilians, or violate Roblox TOS.

General violations ​

You can be server-banned for any of the following:

1. Spam the chat ​

Filling chat with repeated or meaningless text. Don't.

2. LTAA — Leave To Avoid Arrest ​

Disconnecting while detained or being arrested. The game auto-applies a 3-minute arrest when you rejoin, and LTAA is still treated as a rule violation on top. See Arrest & Law.

3. RTAA — Reset To Avoid Arrest ​

Using the reset button to escape. The game now disables reset at 75 HP or below to stop this. Attempts still count. See Arrest & Law.

4. Glitch abuse ​

  • Glitching through walls or restricted areas
  • Glitching any vehicle (making it behave unnaturally to gain advantage)
  • Glitching or abusing tools whilst detained, injured, or being arrested
  • Any other glitches as determined by a moderator or administrator

5. Trolling / harassment ​

  • Following and continuously harassing a person
  • Intentionally glitching or breaking another player's vehicle
  • Any other harassment as determined by a moderator or administrator

6. Spawn-kill ​

Applies only to civilians. Killing people as they spawn is banable.

7. Abuse job-related teams ​

Using transport, postal, tow, or other job teams to commit criminal or terrorist activities.

8. Interrupting roleplay or admin scenarios ​

Don't walk into someone's arrest scene and start screaming. Don't interrupt a mod scene.

9. Harass administrators ​

Don't abuse or harass a mod while they're moderating.

Severe violations ​

You can be banned for an extended period or permanently for any of these:

1. Using exploits ​

Client-side cheats, aimbots, speed hacks, weapon-damage multipliers. The anti-cheat will catch and kick you. Persistent attempts = permanent ban.

2. Repeated general violations ​

Keep doing small things wrong? Severe ban.

3. Going rogue on public services ​

If you're on POLIS, BOMBA, KKM, SJAM, MAF, KPTD, RELA, or any other public-service team and you commit crime, that's a severe violation. Wear the uniform, play the role.

4. Ban evasion ​

  • Using an alternative account to avoid a ban
  • Playing under someone else's login after you've been banned

Ban evasion is taken very seriously.

5. Sharing personal information ​

Don't dox. Don't share anyone's personal details — yours or others'.

6. Violate Roblox Terms of Service ​

  • Racism — including coded racism
  • Discussing topics of sensitive nature
  • NSFW content of any kind
  • Online-dating
  • Any other messages, symbols, or media deemed inappropriate

If Roblox itself wouldn't allow it, Bandaraya doesn't allow it.

Roleplay etiquette ​

These aren't formal rules, but they keep the game fun:

  • Stay in character. Use roleplay dialogue, not OOC chatter during scenes.
  • Respect scenes. If police are arresting someone, don't interrupt unless you're part of the roleplay.
  • Drive like it matters. You're in KL, not Rocket League.
  • Use radio for in-character communication. The radio module supports STT/TTS for immersion.
  • Don't metagame. Don't use knowledge your character wouldn't have (e.g., seeing a player's team from out-of-character info).
  • Don't mix OOC and IC. Out-of-character discussions belong in OOC-tagged messages or Discord, not IC chat.

Appeals ​

Any ban, permanent or temporary, can be appealed.

  1. Join the Malaysia community server.
  2. Contact a moderator or administrator.
  3. Appeals go through the Moderation server.

Note: bans are NOT appealable by way of judicial review. Moderators have the final call.

Tips & gotchas ​

  • The anti-cheat has been tuned. Legitimate combat won't kick you (weapon DPS threshold is 3000+; fire rate tolerance is up to 40 shots/sec). If you get kicked unfairly, the kick message includes a tag (RL, MV, WM) — take that to moderators for a quick resolution.
  • Legitimate teleports and lifts are whitelisted — you won't get kicked for using the Aries Hotel lift or IPD Dang Wangi's elevators.
  • Discord logging tracks most actions — tow clamps, arrests, damage events. Don't try to exploit and cover your tracks.
  • The game logs kills for moderation review (added in v3.12.15).
  • Account-age gate: you need at least 60 days of Roblox account age to play (set in v3.9.0 to combat bot/new-account abuse).
  • Stay safe, play fair. That's it.
